![]() The game wouldn't be as good as it is without the cartoon type of graphics and it really gave a good taste to the game. This is not your typical ''High-end'' graphics, tho I like graphics to be as close to realistic as possible - this game did an amazing job on the artwork. It gives you many possibilities to make your own personal choices, but I would love to have a little more to go on on some occasions. Only thing drawing this a -tiny- bit down is that I personally would like some open options more often. You'll get choices that will handle most of the perspectives and you will be held responsible for what choices you make. The choices are what makes this game so great! The quick-time reaction bits are also easy enough to handle, and hard enough to be a little challenging. It makes it easier to focus on the story and it feels more like a movie you're controlling. Its confusing at first when you're trying to move with AWSD and use point-and-click, but you'll get used to it in a matter that it doesn't ruin anything. I prefer to explore a bit, trying to understand the whole picture and get the info I need to make my choices as close to what I would in real life- and the game awards you for being critical, curious, caring/not caring for the NPC's, open-minded and it made the game a ''personal experience''. The story itself is wonderful, its so rich in content and you can really immerse yourself in it. This is what ''The Witcher 3'' did for me, and now ''The Wolf Among Us''. (Or if it has big flaws - everyone needs to vent sometimes, right?) Its only when I feel a strong connection to a game, and the only way to make me love a game so much that I will use time on reviewing is when the whole experience is amazing and I'm left with a sad feeling when the story ends. They'll always be an Example go Game Design.įor the short version, go down - for a more thoughtful review, continue: Telltale I think failed, but if you play this you know they will never fail, they are among the few, and among the best makers. I haven't even completed it yet, but I wanted to share my positive thoughts on "The Wold Among Us", as the crap thrown and betrayal you are forced to deal with nowadays with all these developers making stuff for producers that push microtransactions, poor service and especially low quality immature, un-releasable experiences is growing everyday like a plague, also in games you bought and trusted. What else? Here you have true game design, best quality story telling. So even the answer-choosing mechanic works perfectly with the detective theme of the game, since investigation requires listening. It is in part point and click and in part as Telltale did, choice based game.Īs a non native speaker I find a bit challenging having to decide before it's too late, but very soon you realize why, you realize you can listen also until the end, and you also fall into the role deciding to speak early or not so early waiting the needed time before picking your answer, as character will keep speaking if you don't choose your answer so quickly as some might do. This is a thriller and detective game of course but it's generally a good story also if you are not into these things, as I am not into detective but I really like so far to experience the 5 episodes of this Telltale production. This game takes inspiration, as you learn from credits, an habit I suggest all to take when watching movies or else (as it can give you the chance not just to reflect but to unplug and relisten to soundtrack you have liked during the experience) from an actual Comic books saga. The extra content Fables explanations are well written, the dubbing of the characters is top quality. It's really worth to play and this is the type of game you wanna slowly sip while focused and undisturbed. This game supports all the reasons why other players and reviews talked positively about it. Story, characters, scenes, animations are extremely engaging.
